Breaking news: Facebookfounder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Mark Zuckerberghas announced that the company will be renamed Meta. “From now on, we’re going to be a metaverse priority, not Facebook,” Zuckerbergsaid.
Zuckerbergin a written statement, they made a radical change, which will bring together different applications and technologies under a single new brand.
The new name reflects the company’s metaverse investment, Zuckerberg said, noting that the new platform will be more immersive, a concrete internet where people will not only look at it but be in the experience.
“We call it metaverse, and it will touch every product we produce,” Zuckerberg said.
“In this future, you’ll be able to instantly teleport to the office, a concert with friends, or your parent’s living room as a hologram before commuting to work,” Zuckerberg said, noting that people can do anything they can imagine in the metaverse.

Facebook Zuckerberg pointed out that his brand is closely linked to a single product, noting that even today it is impossible for the company to represent everything it does.
“I hope that over time we will be seen as a metaverse company. I want to connect our work and identity to what we are building,” he said.
Metaverse covers both social experiences and future technology, Zuckerberg said, adding that the brand’s new name is “not going to be available in the U.S.Meta” explained.

Facebook’s shares on the New York stock exchange will start trading under the code “MVRS” as of December 1st.
News of Facebook’s name change comes at a time when the U.S. government is increasingly auditing the company’s business operations. Senators from both parties in the US Congress were also strongly critical of Facebook.
With Facebook changing the company name, the social media app Facebook will be positioned as one of the company’s Instagram, WhatsApp, Oculus and other subsidiaries.
