Monterey 12.1 fixed that bug on MacBook Pro models!

Apple, along with macOS 12.1, fixed the menu bar icons error that remained under the notch on the 2021 MacBook Pro models.

Appleshared a beta of macOS Monterey 12.1 with developers on Tuesday for testing. In addition, the update given according to the release notes also solves the existing problem with the notch that blocks menu bar extras available on the 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models.

What is the menu bar extras error?

Menu bar extras are small icons that appear on the right side of the menu bar, giving users easy access to app-specific controls. However, the notch found in the new MacBook Pro models can partially or completely prevent icons from appearing on the screen, as this is the point. But Applesaid this bug was fixed with the new release.

As for other menus on the left side of the menu bar, such as FileEdit, and View, developers can update Mac apps seamlessly to work with the notch. As a last resort for those who have not yet been updated, users can enable the “scale to fit under the built-in camera” setting for the app to adjust the active area of the MacBook Pro screen.

All of these changes came after several users complained about the notch interfering with menu bar items on new MacBook Pro models. However, thanks to the temporary solution steps, users will now be able to make the apps appear at the bottom of the menu screen.
