British PM Johnson’s coronavirus statement: Those who think the war is over are wrong

England Its President, Boris Johnson,held a press conference to assess the outbreak after a record 218,724 new cases and a record number of daily cases were recorded in the country in the past 24 hours. Prime Minister Johnson said that in the face of increasing Covid-19 cases, “Plan B” measures currently in force will be adhered to. Noting that covid-19 restrictions will not be increased yet, Johnson said, “With plan B measures, we have a chance to get rid of Omicronwithout closing this country again. We can find a way to live with this virus.”
Johnson said the UK was in a different position to previous waves of viruses thanks to its vaccination programme, adding that it now had a “significant level of protection.”

but still said that “the coming weeks will be challenging” and “some services will be disrupted” in the UK. This is a moment of highest caution.”
British Prime Minister Boris Johnson said that from January 10, 100,000 workers will be
deployed to work in critical jobs such as food supply and border protection in the country, and lateral flow tests will be provided to them every day. Johnson stressed the importance of vaccination in the fight against Covid-19, urging non-vaccinated people to get their vaccines and take their booster doses. Johnson said 90 percent of patients treated in hospitals’ intensive care units did not receive their booster vaccines, and 60 percent of them were never vaccinated.

Currently in the UK, the government’s Plan B measures include rules such as wearing masks in enclosed spaces such as public transport and shops, working from home if possible, and using a vaccination passport to enter certain venues.
The number of cases per day exceeded
200,000 for the first time, with 218,724 cases detected in the last 24 hours, according to official data in the UK. The total number of cases in the country reached 13,641,520. In the last 24 hours, 48 people have died, bringing the total number of casualties to 148,941.
