Microsoft profited from the pandemic!

Microsoft Teams’ growth shows no signs of slowing down. On the meeting side, teams were the choice of millions.

The success of Microsoft Teams continues to grow as more and more users worldwide sign up for the platform. According to the latest microsoft figures, the video conferencing service now has over 270 million monthly active users. That’s a big increase from the 250 million Microsoft Teams users the company reported six months ago.

Microsoft CEO Satya Nadellasaid in her quarterly financial reportthat while Teams’ growth was encouraging, they expected a slowdown over time. Microsoft changed how it measures teams usage last year, switching from daily active users to monthly active users, which in turn could be realistic.

Microsoft Teams reaches more than 270 million users

The company is still busy working on updates and upgrades for Teams. But in the latest versions, a number of important innovations have been made, including users hiding their own video window during a meeting, using emoji in response to chat messages, and even adding smart assistant Cortana audio.

Overall, the second quarter of 2022 was incredibly successful for Microsoft, and the company experienced another big quarter, beating analysts’ estimates. The software giant reporteda 20% increase in revenue to $51.7 billion and net income rose 21% to $18.8 billion . Windows OEM revenue increased by 25% compared to the previous year, while Windows Commercial products and cloud services revenue increased by 13%.

CEO Nadella said in a statement for the second quarter:

“Digital technology is the easiest formable resource to overcome constraints and redesign life. We are innovating and investing in growing markets with an operating model that strengthens a common sense of strategy, culture and purpose.”

The latest data collected by software firm StarLeaf found that almost all (97%) businesses said tools such as Zoom, Webex and Teams were now essential for their operations. More than half (57%) of the 2,000 UK-based respondents claimed their company would not be able to work for more than an hour without access to communications tools, while 27% admitted they would have difficulty working even for 30 minutes.
