Good news for iPhone users! Mask issue ends in Face ID

Apple, iOS 15.4 beta 1 update revealed. The new iOS update also brought a solution to the problem of iPhone unlocking with the mask.

Apple took the first step towards the iOS 15.4 software update today. The iOS 15.4 beta 1 releasefor developers is currently only available to users who are included in the developer program. The recently revealed update was thought to offer no new features. However, the update revealed a feature that has been expected since the beginning of the pandemic.

iOS 15.4 beta 1 update and iPhone unlock surprise with mask

At the beginning of the pandemic, the biggest problem of iPhone users, or at least those who used Face ID, was using masks. As you know, Face ID scans the entire face of the person in order to unlock the screen. In fact, this feature has appeared before. However, the previously introduced feature did not work very well. Apple has previously addressed this problem with the ability to unlock via Apple Watch.

iPhone users who don’t own Apple Watch seem to have finally the ability to unlock with a mask via Face ID, which works better with this new update.

After installing the developer version of the iOS 15.4 beta 1 update, a new feature for Face ID emerges. Accordingly, the feature notes note that Face ID will now recognize unique features around the eyes. In this way, Face ID has the ability to distinguish the user from the differences in his or her eyes.

When you turn on Use Face ID with the mask added to face ID settings, you need to re-scan your face for Face ID. There is also the option of glasses for iPhone unlocking with mask. If you use glasses and mask together, you need to add this option for Face IDto work more accurately.

The build number of iOS 15.4 beta 1released for developers is 19E5209h. If you are a developer or have a developer profile installed for iOS 15 on your iPhone, you can get the update via wireless connection in Settings > Public > Software Update.

iOS 15.4 beta 1 also comes with Universal Control

With the new update, the Universal Control feature announced with WWDC 2021, the Apple Developers Conference, has finally arrived. Thanks to this feature, it will be possible to control MacBook devices with a single mouse and keyboard with devices such as iPhone, iPad.

  • MacBook and Macbook Pro (2016 and above)
  • MacBook Air (2018 and above)
  • iMac (2017 and above)
  • Apple iPad Pro
  • iPad Air (3rd generation and above)
  • Apple iPad (6th generation and above)
  • iPad mini (5th generation and above)
  • MacPro 2019

Although it is not like the only central control that Huawei has achieved with HarmonyOS, this feature is the first indication that the Apple ecosystem is also taking steps along this path. In this sense, it is expected that in the future, operating systems that bring all devices together, just like HarmonyOS, will become widespread.

With the iOS 15.4 beta 1 developer version, Apple has added Emoji 14 support to the ecosystem. Accordingly, the update, which came with 37 new emojis, also added 75 new skin tones to emojis. Thus, iPhone users got a total of 112 new emojis. New emojis include interesting emojis such as a melting face, a soldier’s salute emoji, a cross-mouthed face.
