US equities were mixed after the close on Wednesday, as shares in the Technology, Utilities and Raw Materials sectors led shares higher as shares in the Oil & Gas, Healthcare and Telecommunications sectors led shares lower.
At the close in NYSE, the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 0.18%, while the S&P 500 index rose 0.14%, and the NASDAQ Composite index added 0.40%.
The best performers of the session on the Dow Jones Industrial Average were Intel Corporation (NASDAQ:INTC), which rose 1.76% or 0.45 points to trade at 25.98 at the close. Meanwhile, Caterpillar Inc (NYSE:CAT) was up 1.05% or 2.58 points at 248.72 and Home Depot Inc (NYSE:HD) was up 1.00% or 2.88 points at 291.49 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Merck & Company Inc (NYSE:MRK), which fell 2.69% or 2.99 points to trade at 108.28 at the close. The Travelers Companies Inc (NYSE:TRV) was down 1.44% or 2.60 points to trade at 177.77 and Verizon Communications Inc (NYSE:VZ) was down 1.00% or 0.38 points to 37.53. .
Best performing under the S&P 500, Advanced Micro Devices Inc (NASDAQ:AMD) was up 3.97% at 85.37, while Arista Networks (NYSE:ANET) was up 3.87% at 148.40. . NVIDIA Corporation (NASDAQ:NVDA) was up 3.83% to close at 241.81.
The worst performer, Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd (NYSE:NCLH), was down 4.26% to trade at 15.28. Brown Forman (NYSE:BFb) was down 4.20% to trade at 63.48 while Regeneron Pharmaceuticals Inc (NASDAQ:REGN) was down 3.70% to close at 745.20.
The best performers on the NASDAQ Composite were Kimball International Inc (NASDAQ:KBAL), gaining 84.35% at 12.37 and Castor Maritime Inc (NASDAQ:CTRM) gaining 75.93% to trade at 0.95. . Maxeon Solar Technologies Ltd (NASDAQ:MAXN) was up 44.00% to close at 27.00.
The worst performer, SRAX Inc (NASDAQ:SRAX), was down 62.03% to trade at 0.60. Intelligent Bio Solutions Inc (NASDAQ:INBS) was down 42.66% to trade at 3.40, while ETAO International Co Ltd (NASDAQ:ETAO) was down 40.75% to close at 1.89.
While the number of stocks that gained value in the New York Stock Exchange was 1571, the number of those that lost value was determined as 1440. In addition, 112 stocks remained stable, 1934 shares traded on the NASDAQ Exchange fell and 1682 shares rose. Meanwhile, 194 shares remained stable.

The CBOE Volatility Index, which measures implied volatility for the S&P 500, dropped 2.40% to 19.12 points.
Gold Futures for April delivery lost 0.10% or 1.75 to trade at $1.00 an ounce. Elsewhere on commodities, Crude Oil WTI Futures for April delivery fell 1.37%, or 1.06 percent, to trade at $76.52 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent Oil Futures for May delivery fell 0.95%, or 0.79, to trade at $82.50 a barrel.
EUR/USD was steady at 0.01% to trade at 1.05, while USD/JPY was up 0.13% to trade at 137.32.
Dollar Index Futures were up 0.05% at 105.64.
