The net profit of the banking sector was 39.2 billion TL in January.
According to the data announced by the Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency, the sector’s total assets amounted to 14 trillion 688.9 billion TL.
The statement said:
“According to the data reported to our Agency by the banks, the asset size of the Turkish Banking Sector was realized as 14.688.851 million TL in January 2023. The total assets of the sector increased by 341.461 million TL compared to the end of 2022.
In January 2023 period, loans, which are the largest asset item, are 7,849,775 million TL and securities are 2,473,766 million TL. According to the end of 2022, the sector;

-Securities Total 4.3%
increased by the rate. In this period, the NPL ratio of loans was 2.01%.
Deposit, which is the biggest source of funds among banks’ resources, increased by 3.2% compared to the end of 2022 and became 9,147,151 million TL.
While the total shareholders’ equity increased by 0.9% to TL 1,418,839 million compared to the end of 2022, the period net profit of the sector in January 2023 is TL 39,320 million and the capital adequacy standard ratio is 16,99%.
