Sullivan: Russia could invade Ukraine in days or weeks
U.S. National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan said Russia could invade Ukraine within days or weeks or choose the diplomatic route.
As the Russia-Ukraine crisis continues, the US side continues to declare that Russia could invade Ukraine at any time. U.S. National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan told Fox News Sunday that Russia could invade Ukraine within days or weeks or opt for a diplomatic route. This could happen a few weeks from now, or Russia can choose the diplomatic route instead.”
Sullivan told ABC’s This Week that Russia could annex or comprehensively invade Ukraine’s Donbass region, adding, “We believe there is a very clear possibility that Vladimir Putin will order an attack on Ukraine. He has positioned himself to act aggressively against Ukraine at any time through military deployments.”
Meanwhile, two US officials yesterday said Russia, which illegally annexed Crimea from Ukraine in 2014, has about 70 percent of the combat force it believes will be needed for a full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
