China achieves first: Astronauts return to Earth after six months

The Shenzhou-13 mission to the Chinese Space Station has been completed. China’s longest crewed mission involving three taikonauts was successful.

The Chinese Shenzhou-13 spacecraft and its crew of three taikonauts successfully returned to Earth after six months on the Chinese Space Station. This mission became China ‘s longest crewed mission .

The spacecraft left China’s Space Station on Friday, April 15, before entering Earth’s atmosphere and embarked on its return journey. The Shenzhou-13 spacecraft, which landed in Dongfeng in the Inner Mongolia region of China, successfully brought the three taikonauts back to Earth.

China’s longest crewed mission Shenzhou-13 succeeds

Shenzhou-13 was the eighth crewed mission of the Chinese manned space flight program . This task is China’s; It made it the third country after the United States and Russia to launch crewed missions. A total of 12 taikonauts have flown into space, including the Shenzhou-13 crew.

Taykonaut Zhai Zhigang , who also led China’s last manned spaceflight , joined the Chinese manned spaceflight program in 1998 and became the first Chinese person to spacewalk during the Shenzhou-7 mission in 2008.

Wang Yaping , female taikonaut and Air Force colonel, accomplished some firsts with this mission. She became the second Chinese woman to fly into space with the Shenzhou-10 mission in 2013, while she is the first woman to go to the Chinese Space Station in the new mission .

Chinese Army Air Force pilot Ye Guangfu was the only Shenzhou-13 crew member to go into space for the first time. He was co-elected with Wang Yaping in 2010 and served as a reserve crew member for the Shenzhou-12 mission in June 2021.

The Shenzhou-13 spacecraft, which took the three taikonauts to the China Space Station , was launched on October 15, 2021, with the Chang Zheng 2F rocket. This was the second crew visit to the new orbital station and kept the taikonauts in space for about six years.

The completion of the Shenzhou-13 mission means that the third step of the Chinese manned spaceflight program has also been successful. China will use the station , along with the United States and Russia , to support a permanent human presence in space.
