Swedish Prime Minister Andersson caught coronavirus
Swedish Prime Minister Magdalena Andersson has reportedly tested positive for Covid-19.
Swedenhas seen a fourth wave of outbreaks due to the Omicron mutation of Covid-19,while Sweden’s Prime Minister Magdalena Andersson,54, has reportedly tested positive for Covid-19. Andersson’s spokesman said in a statement that Prime Minister Andersson had followed the advice of doctors and would work from home.
Annie Loof of the Centre Party and Per Bolund of the Greens also tested positive for Covid-19 after a session of parliament last Wednesday attended by Andersson.
THE positivity rate of
tests in Sweden has risen to less than 10 percent since the outbreak, while the positivity rate in this week’s tests has risen to 32 percent. The number of daily cases in the country is expected to reach 70,000. Since the beginning of the outbreak, 1,560,363 people have been diagnosed with Covid-19, while 15,470 people have died from the virus.
