New record number of daily cases in UK
The number of daily cases has reached its highest level since the beginning of the outbreak, with 122,186 cases detected in the UK in the last 24 hours.

Omicron cases exceed 100,000
The UK Health Safety Agency (UKHSA) said 23,719 new Omicron cases had been identified across the country, bringing the total number of Omicron cases to 114,625. UKHSA said 29 people have died from Omicron in the UK so far, bringing the number of Omicron cases hospitalised to 366.
1 in 20 in London has Omicron
The Office for National Statistics (ONS) said 1 in 20 people in london, the capital, had an Omicron mutation of Covid-19, with the number expected to rise from 10 to 1 by Sunday.
