Red Notice sequels on Netflix in 2023
There’s good news from Netflix’s heist-themed film Red Notice. Netflix will bring Red Notice to its platform with two sequels, according to a source with knowledge of the project. Writer and director Rawson Marshall Thurber has already picked up the pen for two upcoming productions in 2023.
Red Notice, which stars Gal Gadot, Dwayne Johnson and Ryan Reynolds, was the most popular production, with a total of 328.80 million hours of views 17 days after its release, according to Netflix. Thurber allegedly puts it on the table as the first rule to have stars in both of his up-and-coming films.
Red Notice is about Hartley, an FBI agent played by Dwayne Johnson, who works with Booth, the art thief brought to life by Ryan Reynolds, to capture Gal Gadot as the Bishop. The film is Netflix’s biggest-budget production ever, with $200 million. It looks like those two sequels are going to be on these budgets.
So much so that players will also earn staggering fees from the production. Gal Gadot and Ryan Reynolds made $20 million from the first film. Dwayne Johnson earned a lot more for being on the producer side of the film. Rawson Marshall Thurber, the film’s writer and director, also earned $10 million from the production.
